Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of wax and wicks do you use in your candles?
Mews Collective candles are made from non-toxic, food grade wax and lead-free cotton wicks meaning they are very safe to burn.
Are your products tested on animals?
Mews Collective does not test any of its products on animals. We also ensure that all of our components are responsibly sourced.
Can I buy candle or diffuser refills?
As our candles and diffusers are delicately hand poured into our custom designed ceramic vessels, we do not currently sell refills. However, when your candle or diffuser can no longer be used, remove the remaining wax or diffuser liquid and rinse with hot water. Your custom designed, highly polished Mews Collective vessel can now be used as a gorgeous keepsake for a multitude of purposes in your home.
Why is there black residue on the inside of my candle glass?
Black residue can appear on the inside of a candle if the wicks are too long and have not been trimmed between burning. Always ensure your candles wick is trimmed to 5mm before each burn. Black residue can easily be removed from the vessel with a damp paper towel or cloth.
Why does the room diffuser liquid discolour when opened?
The room diffuser liquid may change colour after it has been opened. Please note, this is completely normal - the fragrance in the diffuser reacts with the oxygen in the air to produce a slight colour variation. Direct sunlight can also contribute to a colour change, so please ensure your room diffuser is kept out of direct sunlight, heat and drafts.
Are your products vegan-friendly?
Our products are considered vegan-friendly, they are free from Parabens, PEGS and contain no animal by-products.
